Spec-based review: scored from Aquabot's published specifications with the same weights as every other robotic cleaner. Not a hands-on test. How we score.

Our take

The BWT AQUABOT PRO Cordless Robotic Pool Cleaner is a cordless, battery-powered robotic pool cleaner from Aquabot. It cleans the floor, walls and waterline, navigates by building a map of the pool with Four ultrasonic radars that scan and map the pool, and connects to its app over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. A charge lasts up to 210 minutes and takes about 5 hours to refill.

On paper it scores 8.5 out of 10 (great) against other robotic cleaners. Its strongest areas are runtime (10.0) and pool size (10.0). Where it gives ground: filtration (4.5). Filter fineness isn’t stated.

The best price we found is $1,499 at Leslie's. The typical robotic cleaner we track costs $899, so this one is pricier than most. For what it does, its value score is 4.0 out of 10.

If you want surface skimming, the cheapest we track with it is the Beatbot Sora 70 Robotic Pool Cleaner at $1,199.

To spend less for nearly the same spec score, the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Robotic Pool Cleaner rates 9.0 for $799.

Bottom line: a great pick for hands-off cleaning of the whole pool, pools with no outlet near the deck, scheduling and checking on cleans from your phone and large pools.

Pros

  • +Maps the pool, using Four ultrasonic radars that scan and map the pool, so it covers the floor methodically instead of bouncing around.
  • +Climbs the walls and scrubs the waterline, where the scum line forms.
  • +Cordless: no cable to tangle or drape across the pool.
  • +Long battery life: up to 210 minutes per cycle.
  • +Wi-Fi app: schedule and start cleans from anywhere.
  • +Parks at the wall when it finishes or runs low, so it is easy to lift out.
  • +Rated for large pools, up to 50 ft long.

Cons

  • −Filter fineness isn’t stated.
  • −In-ground pools only.
