Robotic skimmer pool cleaner review
Spec-based review: scored from Betta's published specifications with the same weights as every other robotic skimmer cleaner. Not a hands-on test. How we score.
The Betta Neo Intelligent Solar-Powered Robotic Pool Skimmer, released in 2026, is a solar-assisted robotic surface skimmer from Betta. It works the surface, moving in a pattern its maker doesn’t describe, and has a companion app.
On paper it scores 5.9 out of 10 (basic) against other robotic skimmers. Its strongest areas are pool size (10.0) and cleaning coverage (8.0). Where it gives ground: navigation (4.0) and warranty (4.0). The maker doesn’t state the battery runtime.
The best price we found is $429.90 at Betta, 22% off its $549.90 list price. The typical robotic skimmer we track costs $364.95, so this one is pricier than most. For what it does, its value score is 1.7 out of 10.
If you want a Wi-Fi app, the cheapest we track with it is the Beatbot iSkim Robotic Pool Skimmer at $359.
To spend less for nearly the same spec score, the Aiper EcoSurfer S2 Cordless Robotic Pool Skimmer rates 7.3 for $359.99.
For about the same money, the Betta SE Plus Solar-Powered Robotic Pool Skimmer scores higher (6.9) at $389.90.
Bottom line: a basic pick for yards with trees: leaves get skimmed before they sink, pools with no outlet near the deck, large pools and above-ground pools.
